The Tall Tall Grass

We were at Meadowbrook last week with playgroup. Oh how I always forget how much I love this park and then all the loves comes swimming back. At times it makes me really mad that I worked for such an idiot and thus really needed to quit my job, but really with two amazing boys I would have chosen them anyway. I just need to remember to get them out to the parks I used to work in and do my work for them. I love kids outside and playing and asking questions. Oh there is just so much fun to be had. We had a little adventure and a lot of fun and now I think we will definitely be heading into the tall tall grass weekly. I am thinking every Friday morning.
We spent a fair amount of time exploring the sensory gardens.
The bug sculptures. Banana Trees- speaking of, were any of you lucky enough to try any of the local bananas at the farmers market? I had no idea that they produced bananas once in their life and then died!
A hitched a ride.Uphill and down. Then we got into the thick of it. It was awesome having all these 2-3 year olds in the prairie. Looking at the turkey foot, asters, false indigo, boneset and the great prairie docks and compass plant. So lovely, and so warm, you forget how hot it was on the prairie. Poor Prairie Mary.
And then Asher was a fox. I love how much he wants to act out being an animal.

Great trip, looking forward to more this fall.

Poor Prairie Mary...

I love all your pictures lately. So bright and colorful! I canned and froze a bunch of applesauce and apple butter this weekend. We bought a bushel of organic apples.
