Makes the gray rainy days of last week seem almost worth it. Nothing tops a home grown mushroom on oak.
Luckily we have a whole new batch of logs that were inoculated in June that should be rearing to go in the spring.
And this one is for my husband who claims I am not funny: for real I am. Shitake mushroom mustache? killer.
At least I entertain myself through all this sleep deprivation.

Our friends in NC have a bunch of innoculated logs. The mushrooms were heavenly this past August when were visiting.
Did you do the logs yourselves? Kit and I would love to grow mushrooms, especially since I fell in love with a house that sits on a shady piece of land, which is really hard on farmboy Kit. : )
And, I would so love to get a simple sweater pattern from you. Thanks for responding.
