Iowa City

we are busy as usual, this time we were gone for a week doing lots of fun things, like cooking this beautiful food. We catered our friends wedding for 220people, all homegrown local and or organic.
Asher got his farm fix. He rode the tractors and saw all the animals. Plus he got to hold a 3 day old piglet. While we have always been very open with him where his food comes from, and what animals we are eating when (he requests pig meat and knows bacon is from the belly) I think he is putting more of the pieces together.
He was also thrilled to watch the sheep dog work. The kids spent plenty of time in the kitchen, in their own boxes, River's out of necessity he sometimes still tips over after a long extended time and Asher because he wants to be like his little bro.
We spent time just being cute in our hotel room.Learning about centrifugal forces at the Iowa Children's Museum (a great place for imaginative play)
ate some really awesome food. and got to catch up with some really great people. We returned home exhausted and had to immediately get to work, and then had to meet the bride to exchange some catering dish mix ups and now we are home and planning for the biggest events of the summer, my brother's return from Tokyo and Ben's mom's 60th b-day. I hope this is all fun, but I can't wait to be home on the other side of it. traveling is stressful.
