We are departing the south island via ferry from Picton and heading to Wellington. We are reaching the last leg of our journey. It is very sad, but it will be nice to be sleeping in a bed and showering more regularily.
Yet to come though are the oldest trees in New Zealand, (think sequoias) hot springs, swimming in the pacific, a volcano hike and hopefully some lord of the rings hot spots-- most of the filming took place around Wellington and the north island.
We spent the night last night on a beach (the campsites are amazing!) and did winery tours all day yesterday which was nice.
Spent the days before in a great cute cabin at Pelourus bridge, a huge river with great deep swimming pools. It was awesome, lots of rocks to jump off and stuff. Did a sea kayaking tour of the marlborough sounds, beautiful and have been eating really good food!
Have to find some fresh water to drink! Hope everyone is happy with february!
